I've been talking with Marcel about doing some racing with you guys, as I'm quite keen to have a crack at some endurence racing online and to hopefully improve my driving.
I've been playing around with rFactor and Race 07 for about 2 1/2 years or so now. I mostly run the Historix, WSC 70 and Enduracers mods as well as some of the other GT and historic mods. I also race in a Uk short oval league racing mostly stockcars. I've also had a bash at various RD club races. Scored a few wins by being consistant and using good tactics, especially in the stockcars.
Before all that I spent many years on the PS2 running GT4, Sony F1 games and Indy cars series.
I'm really looking forward to my first race if you'll have me
Thanks guys David

I hope you haven't been turned off by the disastrous race at Daytona last saturday. We are deeply disappointed about what happend. And my guess is that it ust wasn't the perfect day for racing at all. Only 19 teams were able to cross the finish line.
But nonetheless, we will be stronger then ever entering the next Rnd - Road Atlanta. ;) The track is already available through SimSync for your RDLMS S3 Mod and a practice setup can be downloaded here: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] So feel free to do some laps whenever you want to. Oh and it's always good to have teamspeak activated when practicing to have the others join you when they can. :)

No mate quite the opposite, I'm looking forward to it more now. I'll run the sync later and start putting some laps in

i hope you havent been put off too. The race showed something of the instability of driver swaps.
To complete several driver swaps and eight hours online is full of risk.
*unfortunately turned off has sexual connotations and I dont think David is quite that excited about joining the team.

Right I've done a short test run round Road Atlanta. What sort of laptimes should I be aiming for? so far I've got down to 1.25's using my own setup. though I suspect there's plenty of time to be made up.

From our previous race at Endurance-rfactor the Gt2's best race laps were 1.21 - 1.23
I think we may need some setup development to reach 1.21 although the times are just a guide it will be more important to be safe and consistant.

Yep I just did a test session at Road Atlanta. Using the Mckonkey setup posted above the track seems pretty much the same as our previous race where we were in a Saleen.
So thats with 60 litres of fuel (i adjusted that) and hard tires.

I did a few laps with the McKonkey setup aswell. Medium tyres, 60 litres of fuel and a bit of adjusted gears: 1:22.750. Track layout seems to be similar to the ERF track, except corner 5 which is a bit different.

I did a few laps aswell. Hard tyres, 60litres of fuel, similar setup based on McKonkey. No big difference to medium tyres, however grip is slightly better and I am about 0.2s faster. With McKonkey's original setup I am about 0.5 to 1.0s slower. There is however still a strange (unusual) transformation of car handling going on when getting low on fuel.
