I must comment on my Steve McQueen avatar. I had heard a lot of comments about the movie LeMans and this last winter had an opportunity to watch it.
There is a 35 minute intro with out dialogue only the sites and sounds of the 1971 LeMans Grand Prix. The first clip continues into the next clip. A great racing movie and Steve was a very good driver according to some of the professional driver that raced with him.

Worth while watching the whole thing if you want but the Qly is poor and the screen is squeezed out of shape. Still a classic race movie with some great sequences.

Wow thanks for posting Michael, I have never watched that movie. I was turned off by racing movies like Days of Thunder, Driven or 2 Fast 2 Furious - : . Never considered watching such movies again. But Le Mans has some really good cameras, points of view and a very high tension to it although there is not one single crash scene in the whole clips you have posted. It reminded me of Bullit and Ronin car chases though these are of course action movies. *thumbup

yes i have a copy of that movie...it is really good. the footage is excellent.

Another driving movie worth seeing...I think its called Grand Prix (with a very young James Gardner)...same era..maybe a few years before..this movie has some great footage of Spa in the late sixties...
