Other sim racing leagues

After disaster at Race Connect I wanted to get myself a solid race finish so I competed in the Old drivers Spirit Historix championship race which was historic touring cars at Watkins glen.

I qualified 11th out of 19. I spent the first 10 laps battling side by side in my Lotus Cortina. Amazing fun. Things settled down and I quietly lapped the track as others made mistakes and lost positions so that I finished a good 7th with 18/19 cars finishing.

Raced at Old drivers spirit again and got a superb result. Qualified and finished in second position.

I chose the best car for the track which helped but I am really pleased that I am the most consistant driver in the league at the moment with an average of 1.3 despite being very laid back about practicing. I have done about 30 league races at race connect, race 2 play and a few elsewhere. I have never even come close to a podium before.

Also the race was against some of our rivals at Road Atlanta :)

HSO is holding a race February the 4th 2012 using the World Sportscar mod at Watkins Glen. I am very likely to race in this event and I think some of you might enjoy it. I expect it to be a little less intense than the RDLMS with a wider range of abilities, some drivers using H box etc.

Oh WSC1970 is a lovely mod and Watkins Glen too! No H-box here though. :(

I bit of a dream race although using race connection or similar would be preferable. You can count me in straight away.

aaaawwwww yeeeeaaaaaah:-) I would be in for that!!! i fucking love this track:-) i drove about 45 laps on it in real life and about 1200 online:-) could we PLEEEAAASEEEEE drive this race?:-D

entry list is relative full already but registration ends by 30/12/11

I will be able to drive safely around the track in this time frame but I cant say how fast. A Porsche setup would help.

I am planning to practice or enter races at the Nords to prepare myself for an endurance race at some point. I have previously raced Historix at Race Connect and a 6 hr race using WSC70 in 2009 at HSO so I know the track to some extent but there is a lot to improve on.

Porsche list is full. Aston Martin is free in GT2. GT1 has Corvette and Aston Martin aswell.

I like the aston and I would probably be alright with any non prototype car.

All the same it may be better to focus on RDLMS and aim for a nurburgring event in March or later.

I dont know how much preparation you guys need? Bear in mind we have le mans to master for Feb.

A german endurance league (racers league RLMS). Their seasons run for a year (with a brake mid-summer), one race a month with a few test runs beforehand. Their entry list is rather full at the moment, but maybe this is something we might consider to enter. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
